$3, School Supplies, and Business Cards
That’s what I brought to the last YP Brandon networking event I attended. The money and supplies went toward helping the local YMCA provide school supplies to children in need.
The Brandon Chamber of Commerce sponsors the organized group, YP Brandon, whose primary purpose is to support different local organizations and charities every time the members get together to network. YP, which stands for “Young Professionals”, is a great way to get plugged in with young, like-minded business owners and professionals. So often networking events are dull and lack interaction. But at YP Brandon events there always seems to be more buzz, because everyone knows that by being there they’re giving back to the community while they network. I’m sure the buzz has something to do with the youthful, opportunistic attitudes that are not uncommonly found at the events!
On June 11, 2009, YP Brandon is putting on the highly anticipated second annual “The Hottest Party Ever Volume II at Cheddars Casual Cafe” networking event which will be much like the successful kickoff they had last year. There was live music, lots of great food, and many opportunities to meet and network with other young, ambitious business professionals.
If you’re a young business professional looking for ways to give back to the Tampa/Brandon community, you should consider attending the next YP Brandon event!
You can learn more about YP Brandon and upcoming events at their website, www.ypbrandon.com.
See you there!
